Beth is a Senior Project Designer at Streetsense where she leads the design and management of a variety of efforts in the Planning and Urban Design Studio. In her role, Beth engages in efforts for both the public and the private sector, each informing the other. Beth works closely with the Research and Analysis team and contributed to a retail analysis effort for the Ballston neighborhood in Arlington, VA, a local grocery assessment conducted in Flint, MI, and following an extensive market analysis, has managed a schematic plan for growth within two large study areas for Fredericksburg, VA. For private sector clients, Beth has designed and managed mixed-use master plans for clients in Philadelphia, PA; Washington, DC; Frederick, MD, and Charleston, SC.
Prior to joining Streetsense, Beth was an Associate and Senior Planner at Torti Gallas and Partners, Inc. where she designed and managed urban and inner-suburban development and revitalization work, locally and regionally for public and private clients. Beth’s regional planning work includes a city-wide Commercial Corridor Study for Charlottesville, VA, a county-wide Development Area Initiatives Study for Albemarle County, VA, and a residential neighborhood transformation and privatization effort at Fort Belvoir, VA through land allocation, local and federal approvals, urban design, and construction.
Beth has a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Landscape Architecture in Urban Design from North Carolina State University.
