The Dabney

Washington, DC

Client Profile

Streetsense partnered with Chef Jeremiah Langhorne to design The Dabney, a nationally-acclaimed restaurant focused on locally sourced Mid-Atlantic cuisine.

Project Scope

For his first restaurant, Chef Jeremiah Langhorne tapped Streetsense to create a space that mirrored his traditional culinary approach and conveyed a gracious atmosphere. Inspired by Blagden Alley’s 18th and 19th-century design heritage, the space emulates a warm and inviting colonial home, from the brick entryway to custom tabletops influenced by the parlor floors in Jefferson’s Monticello. The restaurant is designed around a central cooking hearth, a 10-foot long brick fireplace visible from every seat. Over the restaurant’s courtyard, a trellis supports a garden that provides fresh herbs and produce for The Dabney’s dishes.
