Client Profile

Sitar Arts Center provides multidisciplinary arts education to low-income youth in Washington, DC. The Center fosters personal and artistic growth through the visual arts, music, drama, dance, digital arts, creative writing, and early childhood arts education, offering afterschool, weekend, and summer classes to nearly 800 students per year.

Project Scope

With a goal of raising media and community awareness of Sitar’s work and increasing corporate donor support in the lead-up to the organization’s 15th anniversary, Sitar engaged Streetsense for a comprehensive brand refresh consisting of new messaging, collateral, internal marketing tools, a new website, and a publicity campaign. The collaboration led to a banner year for the organization, which only six months into 2015 saw an 87% increase in online dollars raised year over year. Featuring a responsive design and a sleek, modern look, Sitar’s new website has seen record traffic with overall sessions up nearly 60% and Donation page visits up a notable 101%. Media relations efforts have led to coverage by WTOP Radio and a 143% year over year increase in traffic to the website’s News and Events page. Equipping the Sitar team with a long-term marketing plan, Streetsense has positioned the organization for success for years to come.
