Bantam King

Washington, DC

Client Profile

The Daikaya team’s second DC ramen shop specializes in chicken ramen, serving up craveable bowls of Sapporo-style noodles and crispy fried chicken.

Project Scope

Tasked with designing this new Penn Quarter destination, the Streetsense team developed a vision for Bantam King inspired by the space’s former tenant, Burger King – artfully incorporating the original tiled floor and ordering counter. Channeling the playful side of Japanese pop culture, the restaurant is filled with paper lanterns, authentic comic book wallpaper, and a feature wall lined with colorful plastic trays. Vibrantly appointed, the restaurant features bright blue booths and old school cafeteria chairs under a bamboo ceiling and string lights. Don’t miss the cheeky chicken portraits in the restroom – a nod to the restaurant’s fare and name.
